If you are currently seeking work and are interested in construction, have you thought about trying your hand at pipelaying? Reliable Contracting is actively seeking pipelayers who would be responsible for installing county/city and community water, sewer and storm drain systems. Read on to learn what it means to be a pipelayer and why its an important position in the construction industry!
How to Become a Skilled Pipelayer
Most skilled pipelayers work their way up through on-the-job training as a laborer. They work alongside skilled pipelayers, equipment operators and foremen, learning the necessary skills for a successful project. The pipelayer has several responsibilities on a daily basis. In addition to laying pipes for sanitation and storm sewers, water mains, and drains, a pipelayer is also responsible for positioning pipes, sealing joints and grading trenches. A pipelayer needs to be able to read blueprints and know how to use instruments like lasers and transit levels to ensure slopes are conforming to requirements. An experienced pipelayer will also know how to perform maintenance on old pipelines or swap out old pipes for new ones.
The Importance Of Pipelayers
A piperlayer produces meaningful work. There are many jobs where it is hard to get any feelings of fulfillment at the end of the day. As a piperlayer, you can leave every work shift knowing you made a difference. You are helping to lay the infrastructure for the surrounding community.
