Reliable’s Jay Baldwin Receives “Good Scout Award”

A big congratulations to the president of the Reliable Contracting family, Jay Baldwin, for being this year’s recipient of the Anne Arundel County Good Scout Award. Each year, this award is given to an individual who is exemplary in the fields of community service and leadership, serving as a model for the ideals of the Boy Scout’s Oath and Law. For his work within the community and commitment to bettering people’s lives in many different ways, Jay was singled out as this year’s “Good Scout.”

Good Scout Award The ceremony honoring Jay took place on September 23rd at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America presented him with the award, and Jay was also presented at the same event with an Executive Citation. The citation, presented by County Executive Laura Neuman on behalf of Anne Arundel County citizens, was given in recognition for Jay’s work in the Anne Arundel County community and his continued efforts to serve as a model citizen.

The Good Scout Award is an annual award that has in the past been given to other community leaders, including Frank Chaney of Chaney Enterprises and Kevin Mazwell, the Superintendent of Anne Arundel County Public Schools. These individuals have continued to exemplify the Boy Scout Oath and Law in their careers and everyday lives and serve as good examples for young people everywhere to follow.

The Boy Scout Oath

“On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God

and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people

at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.”

The Boy Scout Law

“A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous,

kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.”
