The 3rd Rally for Roads event was held in Washington, DC on June 11, 2014.  Representing Reliable Contracting, Nathan Scrivener, Director of Quality Control and Janie Hartman, Sales & Marketing Director joined team members of Chaney Enterprises took a bus to our nation’s capital.

Rally for Roads is the result of efforts made by members of the transportation construction industry to help move America’s infrastructure.  Among those to gather at the rally were road builders, laborers, construction unions, industry associations and construction equipment manufacturers who stood with and listened to key members of both the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.

A key issue addressed this years was the overwhelming disappointment in our Congress to quickly fix the Highway Trust Fund.  Three years ago it was patched and those funds will be extinguished over the next few weeks. This means states will not receive the federal funds they have been promised until the fund is replenished. If a these funds are not restored soon, federally funded transportation projects may stopped or slowed, and thereby putting thousands of construction jobs at risk. Members of Congress are asking for a 6 year robust plan.

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) asked all members of the rally “Are we not the greatest nation on Earth?”.  Yes we are.  A fund with no funds will have a major economic impact on our country.

What can you do? First, please take the time to read about the issue for yourself. There are many articles online, simply search “Rally for Roads” or “Highway Trust Fund”. Then, write to your local congressmen and senator. We appreciate your help! The link to gambling website best australian online casino – online pokies
